A $6.99 lunch special comes with all the panchan and filtered water you want. Panchan is the Korean variety of side dishes, here it is kimchi (of course) bean sprouts, chapchae, spinach, potatoes and some items that change weekly. There's always the odd fruit salad--compared with all the bright and flavorful dishes, it looks ganjin and just off the shelf from Safeway.
You could easily make a filling and nutritious meal out of the side dishes, but try to save room for bulkogi or kimchi chigae. Ooo, and there's melon mint gum for dessert!
